This is abit difficult to describe -- link below goes to a picture of
the mainboard-- clicking on the picture calls a closeup of the board:

On a well-working ASUS A7V133 mainboard, I've been using a fan which
clamps to one plastic "hook" centered on each side of CPU frame. The
frame itself has 3 such hooks on each side (top and bottom in the
picture).
Recently, the center hook on the side closest to the CPU (top side in
the picture) broke.

Can anyone recommend a CPU fan which would attach to the outside
hooks, and not only the center one? It would be a shame to trash a
good mainboard simply for a broken piece of plastic

Many thanks for any advice anyone can kindly provide.

Most companies now make heatsinks with 3 lugs on either side. A few lower
cost brands are Speeze, Spire and TR2TT.
I realize you might not be in the US, but here's an idea of what's
available.

You can find pictures via the "See It" link of any product.

If I recall, correctly, Alpha heatskinks use all three hooks with their
retention mechanism. Dunno if they make anything for your processor, but
I'm sure they do. Been a few years, since I've used them. That 'is' their
business, anyway. However, I'm sure there are other brands out there that
use all 3 hooks for the mechanism...
