Hi,

every time I insert a DVD+RW/-R, XP does not recognise it
as a DVD, only a CD and the drive designation changes
from 'DVD-RW Drive' to 'CD Drive'.

For some reason I cannot use XP's burner and instead have
to use Easy CD Creator 5/direct CD 5.3.5.10 to burn
anything. CD-R/RW's work fine with both burners.

Do I need to update the XP burner - If so how do I do
that? or is it Easy CD Creator 6?

XP does not support burning of DVD's directly. You need athird party
application. I know that Easy CD CReator 6 supports DVD writing. I do
not know whether 5 does.
