NEC 4 Disc CD Changer?

I recently got an old, brandless computer that does not
turn on from a friend. There was a 4 disc CD changer that
I took out and put in my XP Pro machine. Hardwise-wise,
it seems fine, but Windows gave it drive letter E, which
I can only use to get disc 1 if inserted. There are 4
buttons, each with a light, indicating whether a disc is
in that slot. Once Windows boots, the light for 1 will
quickly flicker, I guess meaning it's active. Holding a
button does nothing. I looked for drivers; all I found
were for 95 or 3.1, and didn't work even with
compatibility modes. I found some info about RSM, but do
not really understand how/what it does. I don't think it
recognizes it's a changer. The only info I get about it
from Windows is NEC CD-ROM DRIVE:252. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Hello

Well to some degree how do you know if the drive does
work, or did your friend say the drive was working, prior
to you getting the old pc. and sounds like that drive is just
not campatible with XP

I assume the drive works because i can insert and remove
discs, and it will spin up all discs to check them, and
any DVDs i put in it ejects (b/c it can't read them), and
winodwscan see the first disk fine.

Unless something has changed, those multiple drives aren't supported in XP.
