MyLogo2 colour limitations

Hello peeps,

As a picture, I used a nice deep space uncompressed 24bit windows .BMP as
the initial image.
The Full Screen Logo/Update thing works!!!! but is only displayed in 16
colours

Has anyone had any success with how to get the full glorious 256 colours to
work. Any obscure special format needed?

At the moment i'm stuck with Floyd Steinberg dithering the image manualy
down to 16(4 bit) colours, before incorporating it into the 1017 bios. I
used the latest AsusUpdate/MyLogo2 software from their website.

Asusupdt52801.zip
(MyLogo is version 5.25.01).

The motherboard (a P4C800ED) should support MyLogo2 + 256 colour, according
to Asus.
I've looked at a previous thread, and that person wasn't able to do it.
