my windows messages now appear as media symbols?

I cant figure out what's wrong, but all my programs,
including non-microsoft programs, are now displaying
messages in somethign akin to wingdings.

This is not really a cmdprompt.admin issue.
Check Desktop Properties, Appearance, Message Box
and set the font (MS Sans Serif for example)
Or maybe change back to a former "theme" (guess).
