I am a bit confused as to why whenever a user logs off
there is a synchroniztion process. We have a very basic
My Documents redirection GPO set on the only OU. All user
accounts are located here. Everything is working
according to the books but I am not able to understand why
there is a synchronization. It looks like everything is
located on the server share. Right click My Documents and
the location is on the server. Open it up and right click
any and all documents ( Word or Excel or PowerPoint ) and
they are on the server.

Still, there is a synchronization process. Why?

Because changed contents are cached in Offline Files. This makes My
Documents available even if you disconnect from the network, such laptops or
other mobile devices.
