I noticed that when I click on my "contacts" in Vista mail, they are now in
one of the music players. there are 4 blank stars to the far right of their
names to rank them..lol. It never did this before. How can I get this back to
normal? I also used the software choice in the drop down menu in Window's
defender to disable some of my start up programs and then I noticed that my
mail, desktop, explorer, and iTune icons were missing from the left side of
the bottom task bar. Any idea how to get them back there? I tried dragging
and dropping and that didn't help. I went back to Defender and looked thru
the list and couldn't find anything about disabling mail, explorer, etc.
Any help would be appreciated!!

Did you try right click on the bottom taskbar>click on Lock the taskbar to
remove the check mark, can you see or drag the icons in there now?

I couldn't drag them when changing the locked/unlocked. Neither would work. I
had disabled 'quck launch' and I think that's when it happened, looking back
on it. I enabled it and they appeared in the task bar again. Thanks so much
for your interest in helping!
