How do I create multiple partitions. I booted up with XP
CD. It has option to create a artition. However, when I
tried to change the size of partition, it does not change.

You cannot CHANGE a partition's size with XP - unless you delete all the
partitions(with XP) and start again. If you do that, you lose all data.

You need a third-party application like Partition Magic in order to
resize, add and delete partitions. The partitioning tools that ship with
Windows are crude and blunt instruments, and it is better not to bother with
them. Go to www.powerquest.com, and buy Partition Magic. It is very
inexpensive and well worth your while.
Then READ THE MANUAL!! Partition Magic is a power user's tool, and there
is no safety net beneath you. After you've read the manual, sleep on it, and
then read it all over again.
Creating a logical partition to store data is not only a good idea, it
makes your backup task much, much easier. I have used this technique for
more than ten years, and swear by it. Just don't go overboard and create
partitions for absolutely everything. On almost all computers, a single
primary NTFS partition for Windows, its swap file and all your applications
is fine, and then a single NTFS partition for your data is sufficient.
