Am receiving an unwanted message from a buddy:

Your buddy has a new Buddy Icon. Take a look!

My buddy is unaware of where this message is coming from. It does not show
up in her message window. Is there any information on this adware? Where
it comes from? How to get rid of it?

Greetings John,

Yes it is. Tell your buddy to run through Microsoft AntiSpyware:
