msiexec.exe error

I suddenly am gewtting the error message that 'msiexec.exe
has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.' I
have downloaded the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility
from Microsoft but it will not run and I only get the same
error message as mentioned above.
Any suggestions?
