Hello,

I extract the sp4.exe file and used the upgrade.msi to
deploy to workstations by using GPO but somehow after the
package already update it didn't show as sp4 on the
Properties of the My Computer Icon on the desktop.

What did I do wrong please help!

This is urgent

Thanks

Hello.

A variety of causes may exist for the failed installation.

Have you tried installing the service pack manually on the client system by
running the .MSI file manually? If this fails, then the issue is not
related to group policy, but the installation package itself.

Otherwise, you may want to enable installer logging:

I have something along the same line here. I have a couple of hundred
machines that didn't take there sp4 from GPO. Yet several other hundred did.
There mix and match in my OU's but every OU had some machines that installed
SP4 and then some that didn't. My question is, Where do I go on that
workstation and delete that registry string so that on the next reboot it
will try to install that service pack again?
