Using XP Home with XP default theme.

When I highlight text in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, the
highlighting is black and the text is multi-colored.

Notepad, Netscape Messenger, Charmap and Wordpad are OK -
Blue highlight with white characters.

I have Dell P4 with NVIDIA card and Viewsonic A90f+
monitor. Drivers for monitor look installed OK.

I can replicate the problem with three different monitors.

On 10/3/03, I downloaded XP updates, added memory and set
up monitor. So I tried System Restore to 10/2/03. No good -
didn't fix it.

Curent choices seem to be that the card is bad, that some
display setting is corrupt, or what?

What to do?
