MS .Net Managed Provider for Oracle codepage 850 problem

For whoever is interested, there is a definite problem with the Microsoft .Net Managed Provider for Oracle in communicating with an Oracle database that uses codepage 850 accented characters (NLS_LANG of WE8PC850 on the Oracle side). Please do not reply to this thread as I will not be monitoring it here. Pls check the dotnet.framework forum thread for this issue (currently on page 9) where you will find a detailed discussion between myself and MVP Jon Skeet, who recommended that I post this note in this forum.
