MS Excel linked MS Powerpoint

I hav eto provide financial reporting every month with powerpoint slides.
The data is maintained in Excel and I would like to find out if there is a
way to like data file (in Excel) with the presentation file (powerpoint) and
have the presnetation automatically update everytime the data is updated?

Copy the Excel data, then in PPT use Edit/Paste Special and choose Paste
Link.

I'd try to house the Excel file and the PPT file in the same folder if
possible.

Will this process also work for charts and graphs linked between powerpoint
and excel.

Yes. You can also copy and Edit/Paste Special charts and graphs from Excel.
