Using Win XP Pro SP2 with latest MS Antispyware Beta - Suddenly unable to
open iexplore GUI. Process logs as running for each attempt, but nothing on
display. Access to internet search through Outlook works. Disable MS
Antispyware clears the problem. Removes and downloaded newest beta - same
problem. Any ideas ?

Thanx, Warren

Hello Warren;

Try these two solutions:

1) do an update install--control panel, add or remove programs, Microsoft
Antispyware, change, update.

Then, try these steps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> type in -> command)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpywªre

You can go ahead and do both of these--neither has any downside risk--and
see if that does the job. Let us know whether it does, or nºt!

Best luck

Engel

Are you also running either Spybot with Immunization or ewido with backgroung
guards enabled? Not to mention any other antispyware apps that "protect" the
system from attack.

If so, this could be the cause. All of these features are basically the
same as MSAS' Real-time Protection. As with firewall and AV apps, having
more than one real-time protection enabled can cause conflicts, which might
be what you are experiencing.

Engle,

Sorry about the delay in a reply, just have been able to try out your
solution. Wish I couls say it worked.

As soon as I disable msasw, iexplore works fine. Restart, back to square 1.
Installes foxfire, it works fine, but would prefer IE. Any other suggestions
would be welcome.

Thanx, Warren

Alan,

Prior to problem , not running other spyware programs. Now running AdAware
until fixed.

Thanx for the comments,

Warren
