movie maker importing freeze

I have tried reading through the other post without success on finding a
stream that pretains to my exact problem. After converting files to import
some of the files will import while others will freeze the program during
import.

Example: Out of the same folder, VTS_01_1_converted freezes the program
during import while VTS_01_02_converted will successfully import.

Any help would be appreciated

====================================
The files you need to convert are the .VOB files.

The VOB files are converted to VTS on conversion. Some of these files will
import but others will not. EXAMPLE: VTS_01_2.VOB converts to
VTS_01_2_converted.wmv

Sounds like we may not be fully communicatiing.
Forgive me if I totally don't understand your reply.

Maybe you are not seeing the .VOB file extensions?

If you open a folder and go to...Tools / Folder Options /
View tab...if there is a check in the box,
"Hide extensions for known file types"
Uncheck the box / Apply / OK.

Now...try converting the .VOB files to .wmv using the
freeware SUPER.

SUPER © Simplified
Universal Player Encoder & Renderer
http://www.videohelp.com/tools/SUPER
(the mirror download site is faster)

The conversion is slow...have patience.

I don't have a problem with converting the files. Once the files are
converted I can import some of the files but not all of them. The ones that
will not import will load in the range of 16% to 92% and then freeze.

This is where our opinions differ.

If the files were converted correctly...they would not freeze.

Did you try SUPER?

Sounds to me like the conversion is not right as well.
A corrupt orignal file will often play, but will not edit. A converted
corrupt file will convert corrupted and will not edit either.
