Are there any devices that can be had to check a mouse output?

I have two track balls that are not recognized by the OS or, I believe,
the BIOS. One had coffee spilled on it and might be fried because I
powered it up before it was completely dried after I washed it with
water. The other trackball I purchased at eBay and the seller said it
was operational.

Mine got drowned after a coke spill.
Have you tried new drivers/software for yr ebay purchased one?

Mostly we try plugging them into another computer, as it's a lot easier
than finding a "mouse test bench".

Yes, I've tried about every combination that I can think of.

Installed new drivers with the "BAD" trackball connected.

Connected to the PS/2 port and installed new drivers for that arrangement.

When I realized that the BIOS was NOT detecting it I then tried to trick
the system by connecting the "GOOD" trackball during the system check by
BIOS, pausing at the Win 2K-DOS selection, connecting the "BAD"
trackball and continuing with Windows boot. Still no luck, Windows
caught on!

Through all of this the GOOD trackball is still working just fine, thank
goodness!!!!
