I have a Dell PC with Windows XP HE. When I turn on the PC the monitor
displays the logo screen, then the Windows XP screen but when it goes to the
XP welcome screen the monitor goes into standby mode. I can hear the pc
continue to boot all the way to desktop. What is causing my monitor to go
into standby so sudden?

Any replies are greatly appreciated as I'm at a loss with no PC.
Help!!

Thanks in advance

It sounds like your resolution in XP is set too high for the monitor
to display. Right after the BIOS logo shows on the screen start
hitting F8. If you do this right you will get a black and white menu.
One of the options will be Boot in VGA mode. Select this and it will
get you to the desktop in 800x600 or some low resolution. Once your
there set the resolution to the appropriate setting for your monitor.
