Monitor goes into Power Save Mode

One of my users have a monitor that goes into power save
mode even though power save is disabled in the BIOS. Once
it goes into Power Save mode, the computer has to be
rebooted in order for the monitor to wake up. It seems to
have something to do with Direct3D but I can't figure out
what. Has anyone experienced this?

Yep, I have. There are two different places that power
management can take over. The first is in BIOS, and
you've already checked that. The other is in Windows.
Both Windows and BIOS have power management, and
sometimes, depending a number of factors, these two
things can conflict. To turn of Windows PM go into the
Control Panal and choose Power Options. There will be an
option to Turn off Monitor (set to NEVER), Turn of Hard
Disks (Set to NEVER) and System Standby (Set to NEVER).

This should solve your problem.
