Hi,

Am attempting to load a children's game on my Windows XP Pro. An error
message
keeps popping up indicating the disk can't find "MFC30.DLL".

What is this? How do I replace same?

Thanks,

Dbm

Rich,

Thanks. I've downloaded this file and am prepared to unzip same. Now, for
the $64,000 question....where do I place the silly thing?

Merci.

Dbm

Douglas, put the dll in both places

Download mfc30.dll, and unzip it if it is in a zip file.
Copy it into your C:\Windows\system\, (or C:\WinNT\system) folder.
If your PC has a C:\Windows\system32 folder, copy mfc30.dll there, too.

Rich,

Got a problem.

I downloaded and unzipped and put in the proper position.the MFC30.DLL file
from the web link you provided.

However, when I attempt to install the software I now get an error message
that says:

Ren Sez:

You EEeediot!! Theese ees NOT Cheecago!

Got any suggestions. And thanks in advance for any help. Sorry this is
turning out to be such a pain.

Chicago was the code name for Windows 95. Funny error message I about split a gut when I saw it. What you need to do to get your game working is right click on the EXE file and select properties, then on the compatibility mode set it to Windows 95 or Windows 98/ME. I had to do this for each EXE file on the CD to get Bailey's Book House working under XP. YMMV. At any rate it's not a virus as some have suggested in other threads. It's just a goofy dialog box from a smart alec programmer.

Hello,

I have been having the same problem, followed the same steps, and got the same strange error message. However, I have Windows Vista and I cannot find a compatibility mode for the exe file that will allow it to run. Do you have any suggestions?

thank you,
