The simplest thing is to either upgrade to WMP9 or re-install WMP9 on top of
itself.

Cheers,
Jerry

I put a post up on the microsoft message board about
missing the ADPCM Codec. Your suggestion was to reinstall
media player 9. I did that, but it didn't help. I tried
playing the video in DivX Player 2.1, and it gives me the
error "The file contains the following type of data:
Audio Data: Tag 2". It says I need to install another
codec to get the audio to work. Media Player tries to
download a codec from it's server, but ends up coming up
as an error. Do you have any suggestions?

FYI WMP9 can be re-installed on top of itself which sometimes fixes small
problems, like corrupt/missing codec files ....

You obviously haven't looked very hard to find this codec. Here are the
results of a Google search :

Try this site then : http://codecs.nm.ru/ however, you'll need to wade
through the porn bits though. Or even here :
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...cdownload.aspx

Cheers,
Jerry

Hm. No Windows Media download will reinstall the ADPCM codec or other
system-installed codec. Since those are already on the system, there's
never been a perceived need for WM/WMP to do that.

(speaking for myself and doing this in my free time)
See http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html for some helpful WMP info.
