you don't really need to, unless you want to discover
some problems that weren't there in version 501.

I'm not aware of any requirement--the defs still work with the previous
version, etc. The new version has some improvement in the help file.
However, theres a thread in another group where someone feels that careful
comparison testing indicates the newer build doing less well at detection
and cleaning than the older build--still being looked into to see if others
can see the same issue.
