I cant submit to Spynet. It says to check my Proxy settings and try again.
When I view what the spynet scan result it says:

"The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and
then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An invalid character was found in text content. Error processing resource
'file:///C:/Program Files/Microsoft AntiSpyware/M...

<StartupFileRegistry ex="1"
path="HLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" val="Cpqset"
dat="C:\Program Files\H...

WHat does any of this mean? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but end up
with exactly the same Beta, complete with the same log and record. My release
notes tell me there should be a repair option in Add/Remove progs but there
isnt!

(ive reposted this question here after mistakenly posting in announcements.
sorry)

Known bug.

Try uninstalling the app using Add or Remove Programs. Next, delete the
entire MSAS folder from c:\program files. Now reboot the system. Finally,
reinstall the app. NOTE: Make certain to make a copy of the Deactivated
Items folder and place it somewhere on your system, and move that folder back
into c:\program files\microsoft antispyware once you have reinstalled the app.

If this doesn't help, you can post what's not being detected/removed to
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...&lang=en&cr=US,
which is the Signatures forum of this newsgroup. The development team check
the posts there regularly to see what problems people are having with the
definition files, and they will look into the problem.

Alan,

The first part of your answer sounds a bit complicated. I could do the
delete and reboot bit the rest seems a bit daunting and there's no guarantee
any of this would resolve it. So it might just be easier to be patient and
wait the 87 days for the Beta2. I may however look at forwarding the item to
the link you helpfully provided.

tks
