McAfee VirusScam 6

Had McAfee VirusScam 6 for just over a year and update needed renewing so
sent the cheque off and got an e-mail in return with an attachment
containing a zipped VSPCUpdat.exe file. Tried to install the VSPCUpdat.exe
file and it tells me I must have a valid version of McAfee VirusScam
installed, I assume it meant the same version that told me I needed to
purchase the update and led me to the NAI DAT renewal site, where I placed
my order.

So I've now wasted £13.22 on this update which doesn't work and McAfee
VirusScam's helpline number is permanently engaged and the online excuse for
a help chatline is as much use as a chocolate teapot!!!!

Anybody help with this please, or advise a decent antivirus program that
works and has some sort of customer support?

TIA

My flavor of the day is F-Secure Internet Security 2004 beta Release
Candidate 1.....uses Libra, Kaspersky and Orion scanning engines...this full
version beta is good for trial until 12-07-03. Try it, I'll think you like
it. Good luck.

F-Secure Internet Security 2004 Beta for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP

I like Avast. Updates itself several times per week, has a nice interface,
and catches incoming viruses. Free too.
