Maximum number of slides possible, PowerPoint, Office 2000

Seeking to find the maximum number of slides possible in
PowerPoint within Office 2000, is there a limit, and what
are the conditions or tips offered in making a slide
presentation that reaches the limit.

Villem Teder got to 17,000 (well, 21,000, but only 17,000 would save, I
guess). But, as B pointed out in that thread, 1000 slides at 10 seconds
each would take 3 hours to run, so...
