Hello AES,
I'm checking my email before bed and thought I'd check my home email
when I noticed your post. Sorry about the late response. A4 documents
shouldn't be a problem for the ScanSnap Mac (fi-5110EOXM). It's common
for the ScanSnap Manager to have letter as the default document size
settings ~ or legal size depending on you're specific scanning needs.
The most likely cause of your symptoms is the scanner's Double-Feed
detection fail-safe. All Fujitsu ADF scanners have at least one system
of components verifying that your documents feed through one at a time.
The ScanSnap Mac uses a mechanical flag sensor located in the center of
the ADF door between the 4 amber feed rollers- (not to mistaken with
your pic roller which feels like a sponge material). The sensor is used
to check the length of each document fed through the scanner and
compares the length with the following document. If a variance of 10mm
- 20mm is detected, AND you have your doublefeed detection enabled,
then the scanner will stop automatically.
Try turning off your double feed detection within the ScanSnap manager
and scan again. If that works, then the thing to remember is that your
double-feed detection is triggering anytime you have a mixed size
batch. (only measurement the scanner uses to detect size is based on
the docuement length- i.e. steps from leading edge to trailing edge)
Give me a call direct if you have any questions... My number at work is

If I'm in the middle of a big project, I may need to call you back in
the evening or over the weekend if you don't mind~
Thank you,
Danny
