logon screen

my comp used to start up fine and go right to the desktop,
and now after downloading updates from microsoft it goes
to a click name to logon screen and i dont like it one
bit, is there any way it can be bypassed? i want to turn
it on and have it go right to the desktop like it used to
thanks for any help.
