When I turn my pc on half the time it hangs on the welcome screen. I can
cold start which does a check disc and it will complete the start up. all of
the updates have been installed. I have run adaware,spybot and a virus scan
and all are clean. Is the an update that could be causing this problem?

try unplugging your ethernet cable and see if there is a difference in start up

if there is a difference then something is arry with your network
