I've hit on a problem with my XP Pro laptop trying to talk
to my 2K workstation.. It runs something like this:

If I use the UNC to talk to the laptop from my workstation
I get "Logon failure: account currently disabled", but if
I use \\192.168.100.xxx it allows me access. The guest
account on the laptop is enabled and the security options
are set to classic. I've not been able to find any way
around this, does anybody have any ideas?

Check your user accounts on the XP Pro laptop in Computer Management/local users
and computers to see if any are disabled. Enabling auditing of logon events on
the XP laptop for failures and view the security log in Event Viewer for failed
logons to get more info. The guest account only allows access to shares and
folders that both have everyone group permissions assigned. --- Steve
