Logo Reqt 2.7 (removal of Preferences) Attn: MS

MS states "User preferences may be considered user data and left behind, but
in option to do a completely clean removal should be included."

I have several questions about the "clean removal" requirements:

1. Does this apply to the registry (HKCU, etc.?) as well as the file
system?

2. Suppose you've installed on a computer which uses separate user
profiles. Are we expected to recurse all the user profiles on the machine
when uninstalling, and delete C:\Documents and Settings\*\MyCo\MyApp" (or
similar path, as appropriate?)

3. What about roaming profiles? If you remove an app from one machine,
should you kill the local copy of the user's settings? What if that user
expects to use the software on another machine, later? All of the settings
would have been removed from the network when that user logged out.

4. When my software is intalled in demo mode, I leave one obscure registry
entry behind on uninstall, to prevent the user from getting a fresh demo
just by uninstalling & re-installing. Since this is not done in the
licensed version, is there any reason why this would be a problem for
certification?

P.S. Since this is a fairly slow-moving group, it would be very much
appreciated if you could cc: me directly, as well as replying to the group.
