Excel 2010
Many times I am working in a large spreadsheet and loose track of
where the highlighted cell is. Is there a command or mouse gesture,
etc. that will let me know where the selected cell is? I realize that
I can look on the left side of the formula bar and it will give the
cell address but that is not always visible. I know there is a
similar option that will let you use the CTRL to locate the mouse
cursor. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks in advance... Bob

Give this a try... click in the Name Box (the field to the left of the
Formula Bar)... that will show you the selected range, hit the Enter key to
scroll to that range.

That might work. I notice that the selected cell (we are not dealing with ranges) has like a double line around it's border. There is any way to change the thickness of it (as you can when you're formatting a cell)as a default?

A simple little thing to visibly show you what's selected is to hold
the shift key and arrow down (or right or up or left) 3 times, and you
can probably see the shading of the (temporarily) selected range. To
maintain (return to) the same selected cell after you do this, arrow 3
times back to where you started, all while still holding the shift key.

And it must be said: Google, you stupid, stupid, tiny-dicked piece of
chit, putting email addresses in these newsgroup postings. I would
like to personally meet the individual on whose authority this
decision was made. If anyone wants to reveal that name, please do.

Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options

check "Show location of pointer when I press CTRL key.

Works for me on Win 7 Excel 2007
