First try running BCM as admin on the client and see if that resolves
the problems.
If sql studio can connect, then there's likely a problem in how BCM
itself checks the user name and password.
If there's no difference in the user and password on the two machines--
same case, same everything--try creating a new user, on both the
client and server machines. Then on the server, logged in as the
database owner, make the new user a shared user of the database. On
the client, login as the new user, run Outlook (you don't need to
connect to an email server) and in the BCM wizard, select the server
and shared database.
If the new user works, then there's something amiss about that orginal
user's credentials.
