i.LINK 4 pin vs. 6pin uploading

In uploading AVI files from a Sony digital8 to MM2, is it better to use an
i.LINK 6 pin or 4 pin connector on one's computer? What are the advantages
of each?

there's no difference between the 4 and 6 pin connections/cables... use the
one that fits.

The extra 2 pins carry power to the unit in case it doesn't have its own
power supply
