I'm in the process of finishing a vb2005 application for commerical use, and
wanted to know if anyone has any favorites for licensing software?

Would like something reasonably priced for a part-time developer and
flexible for both trial and regular licensing.

Hi there,

We have been using Desaware for quite a while but to be honest, it's
certainly not the best of solutions. We are about to start using Xheo.

Although with that said, if you have the time I believe you should have
a go at developing one yourself. Tailored to your needs and a possible
future product release for you, that's how I've always seen it.

I have used the Desaware solution in the past too, but to be fair I don't
like using third party stuff in my applications & will always code
everything myself.

Whatever solution you use the crackers will soon master it. Bare that in
mind when deploying your app.

Firstly, a previous poster already mentioned XHEO one

Secondly, the ASPOSE one isn't that good & I remember 3 years ago when
someone else posted the URL because you didn't know about it. Nice to know
you have learn something from someone else & remember it from around 3 years
ago, but so do I. hehehe

Thirdly, the MSDN URL

tscontrols.asp) you posted is also in the built in VS.NET documentation & is
the most primitive way of licensing controls etc. No-one should ever use
this method, yet its the only one you posted that doesn't rely on third
party additions

An alternative is CryptoLicensing (http://www.ssware.com/cryptolicensin...ensing_net.htm)
It is a cryptographic licensing system with support for trial as well as regular licenses and plenty of other scenarios.
