Lexmark 6100 Series Won't Print

I have a Lexmark 6170 printer that is using the Windows Vista 6100 series
driver. When I print I get a Lexmark "communication error" from the printer
and it won't print. I have changed the cable and uninstalled the printer.
When I restart the computer, Windows Vista detects the printer and reinstalls
it, but I still have the same problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance...
