Hello,

Up until I tried to burn my playlists to an audio cd, I thought iTunes for
Win XP was a good program. However when I select my playlist and click burn,
I get "unknown error 4000", and the burn is cancelled.

Things I've tried to remedy the problem:

-Change burning speeds from 1x through 48x
-Make sure the disc is recognized. It is.
-Try audio cd, mP3, data cd.
-tried cd-RW and cd-R.
-Reinstalled iTunes
-I have scanned the iTunes help files and website. The closest thing I got
to an answer from their crappy forums was, "haha burn in hell windows users".

I'm surprised that no one else has posted about this problem on these
forums. from a few other posts I've come across out there in cyber space, it
seems there are thousands of us having this error 4000 problem, but I haven't
found an answer yet.

Please, I'm begging you for some help. I hate to think that songs I've
purchased, songs that are begging to get played from my stereo, are trapped
in my PC. Music is life.

Regards,

-Fred

iTunes is a product of Apply Computers. Suggest you go to their website (URL)
and look for tech support or their forum.

Apple - iTunes - Jukebox

2 things
-First don't use the iPod or iTunes both are poor products and you pay too
much for an iPod
-Second try Apples website/newsgroup if you can not get rid of the iPod for
a better product.

I found my own answer. It seems that most people are able to fix the "4000
error" by simply going into control panel>add/remove
programs>iTunes>change/uninstall and click on "repair" (NOT UNINSTALL). This
reinstalls iTunes as the main cd burning program and overides any competing
burning software, like nero for example. Don't worry you won't lose your
music. If you're nervous about losing your music, copy it before you perform
the repair.
