Attempted to run Symantec Live Update and got the
following error when Windows installer activated.

The InstallScript engine on this machine is older than the
version required to run this setup. If available, please
install the latest version of ISScript.msi, or contact
your support personnel for further assistance.

I have no support personnel. Does anybody know how to
update the ISScript.msi? OR, disable this install? Until
I can cancel this operation, I keep getting the message at
boot up and when I open Symantec Anti Virus Client.

John

Go to support at InstallShield.com, there should be a download somewhere.
There used to be an installengine.com web site, but it seems to be down.
It's the InstallShield scripting engine - it provides support for their
proprietary scripting custom actions etc.

I have the exact same problem while trying to install new Palm software.
Checking the verion of the run application file on the Palm software as
instructed by the Installshield site, I find the verions to bo 3.0.0.4.
The problem is there is no solution given for this verion on the
Installshield site. Anyone know what to do? Thanks.
