What version of Windows?

The best and easiest thing to try is to download and install the latest driver from your audio card's vendor. I know that it seems like the canned solution that everyone gives but it really does work sometimes. You also want make sure that you are using the correct driver. I speak from experience. I had an old SB 1873 (I think that was it) that I was accidentally trying to get to work using a 1872 driver. It worked for a while but after a couple boots, it would lock the system until the card was removed. When I discovered my error and downloaded the correct driver, it was perfect.

You can also try to see if you can change the IRQ setting in the BIOS. Make notes on what you change so that you can always go back if it completely jacks up your PC.

No matter where you go.....There you are.

IRQ's can be shared, and quite common for more than 1/2/3 ... need more info on your PC

Use "Device Manager" to check for conflicts ... check each items properties.

If there are no conflicts then double check you have the latest drivers ... for everything.

Sorry to say Rabbit, and no disrespect intended, but all you have there is a glorified typewriter.

Once you are sure that you have the latest driver and you are still having the conflict, you can try this:

Delete both devices in the device manager, shut down Windows and then remove the soundcard. Reboot. Install the latest chipset driver driver intel that supports your board and them make sure the USB stuff is working. Shut down again and then reinstall the Soundcard. Boot up and install the soundcard driver. Sometimes the art in getting devices to work is all in the order in which they are installed. I always install Chipset drivers before anything else. I also always install the latest avaialble from the hardware vendor, not the Microsoft updated driver.
