Ipaq 4150 Serial Port - different behaviour to Ipaq 2210

Hi,

I wrote a small barcoding app for an Ipaq 2210 which used Com 1. I
went to run the same app on an Ipaq 4150 and it says the port is in
use. In fact, all com ports seem to be in use on the 4150. I've tried
closing ports, disabling RTS etc but nothing seems to free the com
port up on 4150. Activesync is talking via WLAN, I've tried with WLAN
turned off and beam receive turned off but still no joy.

If anyone has any further suggestions, I'd be very appreciative.

Kind Regards,

David.

Hi,

Do you have any keyboard or other device (not connected, just installed)
that might have software that is using the port? If so, you will have to
disable, or perhaps uninstall that software.

Hi Dick,

Thanks for your reply. I've got nothing else plugged in or connected -
only a WiFi link to my Access Point which handles the active sync
session. Even if I turn wireless off and bluetooth off, I still cannot
get access to the port. How can I find out categorically if the 4150
has serial support as the Customer service officer that I was put
through to on HP web support couldn't find anything in the database
when I asked them the same question.

Is it possible that the pin outs on the 4150 are different to the 2210
if in fact serial support exists on the 4150?

Kind Regards,

David.
