Hi everyone. This is my first post ever. I've got a question to ask:

When I add a web site to my favorite list I can't get the right icon. Even the Internet explorer icon does not appear at all. It's another icon, a windows-style one. When I scroll down the search bar I see the right ones but when opening "favorites" everything's a mess. Even when I try to change the icon it doesn't work.

Any help will be appreciated.

What does the icon look like, is it the same for every entry? It sounds like a new program has associated itself with .url files, as that would have a similar problem. Do you have FireFox or any other browsers installed?

Of course I will make myself clearer nex time with the title. Thank you. the icon looks like a page with a window inside full of icons.

The icon is the same for every entry.
I don't have fire fox installed. Only IE and the computer is completely new. I bought it just one week ago. It works perfectly but i get desperate with this.

There is only one thing I can think of that might fix it... load up Windows Explorer (Win Key+E) and then go to:


Tools > Folder Options > File Types

Then scroll down to .URL and then click "advanced", then "change icon".

The icon on the .url tab is the right one. Even in Windows Explorer if I click on favourites i get the right icon. bit when i¡m in my web browser the icons do not appear well.

Any help would be appreciated

Is it for every single icon?

it happens every time I add a page in my favorites menu. Sometimes, for instance, my google icon appears but the next time I open the browser it's just disappeared. The icon that appears is the first one in the system32 folder the one with a window in it.

I just don't know what to do!
