When I originally installed the software that came with my
intellimouse optical, it gave me the option to assign mouse
buttons to any keystroke. It also gave me the option to
have custom settings for individual applications. Since I
was forced to reinstall w2k however, I can no longer find
the disk that came with my mouse and downloaded
intellipoint 5. I now no longer have these options.
Are they somehow "hidden" and if so how can I restore them,
or, was it a separate piece of software and where can I get
it?

The options are omitted from IntelliPoint 5.0. You'll need to
download and install IntelliPoint 4.12 from the Microsoft web site.
