I just bought a new Gateway laptop with Windows XP Home Edition and
Microsoft Works installed.

I removed MS Works and tried to install Office 97.

I get this error message:

"El programa de instalación detectó que ya se instaló Microsoft
Office en otros equipos."

(Translated: The installation program detected that Microsoft Office
has already been installed on other computers.)

If I reformat the hard disk I can install Office 97, but there must be
a less painful way.
