Doing anything to a computer with about any Norton product installed could
result in a problem, no way to tell but to do it, we can't say if you'll
have a problem or not.

What I should have said was when installing Norton 360 I get a error msg
";unable to cont;inue, Service Pack 2 (SP2) must be installed first. Since I
am on auto updates from Microsoft, will downloading and installing SP2 over
the latest update sent to me by Microsoft cause me a problem.

The obvious question that you didn't answer is, do you have SP2 or SP3
installed?

Once Windows is up and running, click Start>Right-click on My
Computer>Left-click Properties.
The window that comes up(the General Tab) will show what version of XP you
are running, ie "Home Premium Service Pack 1"
XP Service Pack 2 came out in late 2004; it should be installed on your
computer.
XP Service Pack 3 has come out a few months ago.

There is no such thing as XP Home Premium, you must have Vista on your mind.
