how to insert odd page numbers on bottom rigth of the page and even page
numbers on the bottom left of page. In MS Word 2000 was very simple, in 2007
I just can't find it.

In Page Layout, select different odd and even pages options exactly as in
previous versions. Then you have different Footers for Odd and Even pages. -
just like before.

But in Word 2000 George was probably using Insert | Page Numbers and
choosing Outside rather than using "Different odd and even."

Probably true, but I soon learnt the disadvantages of using Insert | Page
number instead of Insert | Field.

I never used it, but I have to admit that, for simple documents, it offered
quite a lot of functionality that is not replicated in Word 2007.

Press F1 for help. Type in "Page numer" or "insert page number". The WORD
help will automatically search it for you.
