Dear all,
I've been trying to import my outlook pst file into my Windows Mail, but I
haven't been succeeded. Whenever I try to click on "File > Import >
Messages... > Microsof Outlook " a pop up window appears to me warning me
about a MAPI driver problem (it is not installed). I have already tried to
download an Outlook 2007 trial version in order to solve this problem, but I
didn't work.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem? The emails I have in the pst
files are very imporant and I really need to import them to Windows Mail.
Regards, Felipe

Windows Mail cannot import a .pst file unless Outlook is installed on the
Vista computer.

You can install Outlook, copy the .pst to the Vista computer, open the .pst
with Outlook, then you can import into Windows Mail.

Or,
If you have Outlook installed on an XP computer, import the .pst data into
Outlook Express, copy the .dbx files and .wab file to the Vista computer,
and import into Windows Mail.

Please do NOT attempt to migrate the OE data into Windows Mail that way!

You cannot import a PST file directly into Windows Mail unless (a) MS
Outlook is also installed and (b) Outlook is using the PST file.

Thnaks for all the tips, but it still hasn't worked. I've downloaded a trial
version of Outlook 2007 and imported the pst into it. However, the same
"MAPI driver problem" message still appears when I try to import to Windows
Mail.
I thought also of exporting from Outlook 2007 to an Outlook Express format
file, but it is not possible, since there isn't this option.
Is there any way to solve this problem? Is there any other way to get this
MAPI driver?
Regards, Felipe

I have the same problem and would also like to how can I import my contacts'
..PAB file into Windows Mail. There's too many to have to retype. Does
anyone know if there is a KB article about this? I've been searching for
hours and have been very unsuccessful.

Many thanks to anyone who can perform this miracle.

I exported my contacts to a excel file comma separated values(windows) and
saved to a flashdrive. I then opened windows mail and imported from the
flashdrive. All of my contacts were copied and had no issues.
I am trying to get all my emails from outlook to windows mail. I have tried
all suggestions.
