importing excel

's Computer Specifications

When I try to import and excel file (2003) I have a column with text
and numbers. It comes in as a text column but the numbers are not
importing correctly. A number like 5233000085 comes in as 5233e
+0009. I have tried working with the excel first formatting but
haven't had any luck.
