IE7 cannot display the webpage

I downloaded the latest updates from Microsoft including IE7 onto a laptop.
Since then I have not been able to access the internet, I get the message
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". Several attempts at refresh
have not helped. I ran the Network Diagnostics and that did not detect any
problems.
If I go into "add and remove programs" and remove IE7, will I be left with
IE6 as it was before ?

advice appreciated - Phian

Hi Phian,

If you haven't done so already, you could have a look at the information in
this MSKB article:

Error message when you start Internet Explorer 7 or try to access a Web
site: "Internet Explorer cannot display the Webpage"
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b/926431/en-us

Yes, if you uninstall IE7, you should be left with IE6 as it was prior to
updating.

Thanks Patti, I thought it would be a simple matter of keeping the laptop up
to date - silly me :-)
