On certain sites … Bitbenders & PCReview are especially affected and these are about the only sites I visit next to 911. It also happens on others sites like Freenetname.

It just appeared out of the blue when accessing the Moderators section of PCReview

Have tried all or most of what appertains to me here ... with no success.

I have also searched and deleted the "Hosts" file that did seem to work for 30 seconds

Anybody any idea?

Was it just your ISP causing the problem, or IE?

I've not long got off the phone with them and they said "yes we are having problems in your area with browsing" ... I put the phone down and everything is ok.

Go figure?

Curious Mucks, is that reference to an 0845 number similiar to our 800 number system here in the States. 800 numbers being toll free.

Not quite Heretic, our 0800 #'s are the same as your 800. An 0845 # is at "local rate" not national.

I live in Wales and get to phone Ireland for the price of a local call.

the problem with the isp was down to their dns servers. Basically their servers can't find the ip number that matches the url you type in the address bar. If the probelm occurs again use ip numbers instead.
