IE6: "hotmail unavailable from this site...??"

Hi,

when trying to log in to hotmail with IE6, I always get an error message:
"The Microsoft Passport Network is unavailable from this site for the
following reasons ... etc, etc."

seems to always work fine on Firefox. Any reason why IE6 would not allow me
to sign in to hotmail? I can run MSN messenger ok...??
