I've just spent 4 days and perhaps 5-6 hours troubleshooting this problem. I
spent probably 45 minutes attempting to find out how to include a link
(news:blah-blah-(E-Mail Removed)) in my post, specifically to save a
resonder's time by not having to search the group directly. Not that the
effort I've expended in any way justifies my expecting you to waste valuable
time, time that I might help you avoid simply by doing a better job of
documenting my question. On the contrary I appreciate the help you've (yes,
you personally) given me in the past as well as help given by other who share
their knowledge -- expert or not -- on these newgroups.
Regarding the question posted here, I truly believed (and still believe)
that referencing the original post would have been WASTING others' time, not
saving them any time. The original contained on information from anyone else,
and the information I provided there was in one form or another repeated in
my follow-up. Perhaps follow-up is the word that causing the misunderanding;
it really wasn't a follow-up, but rather a re-posting to see if someone would
take a look at it. In any event, if I am mistaken, then I hope you will
consider my error one of judgement, not one of laziness.
I spent 35+ years in "the industry" before I retired a few years ago. Most
of my expertise has vanished, or rather has lost any relevance to today's
technology. So you are correct in implying that I'm not very busy outside of
the forums, at least not busy in the sense that I have a job that I'm being
paid for and that happens to coincide well with the expertise that people are
seeking here.
So, again, I truly regret my mistake and I will make every effort not to
repeat it in the future.
